Good news!

The City University Computer Club, after an initial gestation period of almost four years, has finally taken wings!

Last month, in November 2007, the ad-hoc management sub-committee of the Club met for the first time after almost three years to give a tangible shape to the long-cherished dream of the tech-savvy members of the City University family – both students and teachers, and officer and other well-wishers. A second meeting of the Plenary has already been convened – representing an elite mix from all departments of the University.

The immediate objectives of the Club include, among other things:

  • Re-configuring the City University hardware and networks
  • Spreading wider appreciation and working knowledge of both the hardware and software of wholesome computer systems amongst the members of the City University family
  • Generating specialized knowledge base amongst the interested and qualified Members of the Computer Club to solve problems/situations and practical troubleshooting
  • Prepare well-trained groups for participating in software/programming contests both at home and abroad.

The Computer Club has been ordained with a vision to excel in the most advanced of technologies – “wherever and whenever” – that it might be developed. Though it might sound a little ironic, it is the motto and battle cry for the Club. Members of the Club will not only learn maintenance of the state-of-the-art City University website (which, not-so-incidentally, had been developed by two of its senior founding members), but also learn how to develop even better web-sites.

The Club invites IT-masterminds from all departments to join en masse!

Membership forms are available in the room number 403 at the 4th Floor.
